Blood transfusion science is one of the newest branches of medical laboratory sciences. The department of Immuno Haematology and Blood transfusion shall maintain a quality system which is complaint of all existing statutory provisions of the Drugs and cosmetic act 19NDA= and amendments, other directives from Drug Controller General of India, National Blood Policy and NACO guidelines on HIV screening. It will be our endeavor to supply best quality blood and blood components, prepared from unremunerated donors, screened by appropriate methods and stored and transported at right temperature. We shall strive to minimize /preclude any risk to our donors. All this will necessitate quality management and quality control of processes and quality assurance of product and service.

Facilities Available:

1. Gel technique for ABO blood grouping, cross matching and antibody titration.
2. Whole Blood, Leucoreduced packed red cells.
3. Leucoreduced platelets.
4. Fresh frozen plasma.
5. Single Donor Platelet Apheresis (SDP).
6. Plasma Apheresis.
7. Therapeutic plasma exchange for neurological and immunological diseases.
8. Cryoprecipitate for Hemophilia.
9. Washed RBCs for Hemolytic anaemia.

Candidates selected for various PG Courses session 2012 at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana during PGET Counselling held on 28 Feb.& 05 Apr 2012 at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot are required to report in Dumra Auditorium at 9.00 AM on Wednesday, 25 Apr 2012 for deposition of their fee, application form, original & photocopies of certificates, annexures (as per list available in the PGET DMCH-2012 prospectus-page no. 46), Medical Examination and completion of other admission formalities.

For NRI candidates: All fees and payments must be made in foreign currency. If fee is deposited in installments, bank guarantee must be submitted for the balance fee.

ADMISSION NOTICE FOR MD/MS/PG Diploma/MDS courses for NRI quota seats
Applications are invited for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma/MDS courses for NRI quota seats in all private Medical/Dental Colleges, upto 27-2-2012 (5.00 PM) in the university office. Counselling for these seats will be held on 28-2-2012 in the university. Those candidates whose internship is to be completed by 31-3-2012 can also apply.
