Smash 2026- annual athletic meet held
Annual inter batch sports meet, SMASH 2026 was held on October 16,2026 at DMC&H College Campus. All the batches of MBBS students participated.
The meet commenced with the inaugural ceremony by releasing balloons by the chief guest Dr Ravinder Verma, Member Managing Society along with Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society along with Sh Mukesh Verma, Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society, Principal Dr G S Wander, Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medical Supdt. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary (Chairperson, DMC&H Sports Committee), Chief Cardiologist cum coordinator, Dr Bishav Mohan, Add. Medical Supdts. Dr Ashima Tanjea. All the faculty members of DMC&H and Sports Committee were also present on the occasion.
The sports meet featured a wide range of athletic events for both boys and girls namely short-distance racing events (hundred meters race, two hundred meters, four hundred meters relay race) shot put, tug of war, football, badminton, basketball, table tennis, Pickle ball. These activities encouraged healthy competition between the participants.
In his inaugural address, Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society highlighted about the importance of sports in students life as sports help to maintain balance between physical health and mental well being. Further Sh Gupta highlighted that sports help to foster the team spirit, sense of belongingness and assist to achieve shared goals.
Dr Ravinder Verma appreciated the efforts of the DMC&H Sports Committee in organizing SMASH 2026 and congratulated all the participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He emphasized that sports play a vital role in promoting physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities among students. He encouraged students to actively participate in sports activities and strive for excellence, highlighting that a healthy mind and body are essential for overall growth and success.
Principal Dr G S Wander, congratulated DMC&H Sports Committee and all the students to conduct this event and their active participation. He declared the meet open.
In his message, Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Chairperson, DMC&H Sports Committee, complimented all the winners and highlighted the importance of sports.
Dr P S Nain, Convener, DMC&H Sports Committee, welcomed the chief guest and detailed about the SMASH 2026. Further Dr Nain highlighted to promote teamwork, a healthy competitive spirit, and overall well-being among students and staff, making DMC&H not just an institution of learning but a vibrant and dynamic community.
Prizes were given to the winners to acknowledge and encourage their outstanding performances. The titles of Miss DMC in Sports and Mr DMC in Sports were awarded to Ms Jasmine Kaur Mander (Batch 2021) and Mr Bhavjot Singh (Batch 2022), respectively, in recognition of their performance and participation in SMASH 2026.
