About Faculty
Dr. Nidhi Sagar is a Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing at DMC&H College of Nursing. She has been associated with the institution since 2003 and brings over 21 years of total teaching experience and possesses 1 year of clinical experience.
She completed her undergraduate& postgraduate studies at Christian Medical College & Hospital, College of Nursing, Ludhiana, Punjab. She completed her PhD from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) in Obstetric Nursing, recognized by INC.
She began her career as Staff Nurse at CMC&Hospital, Ludhiana (2002-2003), and then she joined DMC&H College of Nursing as Clinical Instructor (2003-2005). After completing her Msc. in Obstetrics &Gynae Nursing (2005-2007), she re-joined DMC&H College of Nursing as a Lecturer in July 2007, then she was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor and then to Professor. Since August 2014, she has been serving in the capacity of Professor. Additionally, she has been appointed as vice principal in May 2013 till date. She also served as officiating principal w.e.f.1st March 2025-10th Feb 2026.
Her academic responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating departmental activities; conducting teaching sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate programs; guiding postgraduate thesis and projects; and providing clinical supervision to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also serves as an inspector for BFUHS and Indian Nursing Council (INC). She is currently the coordinator for Nursing Education and Obstetric & Gynaecological Nursing for the MSc Nursing program.
Furthermore, she serves as an internal examiner for postgraduate nursing examinations within the institution and as an external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing examinations in institutions across and outside the state, including BFUHS, PGI Chandigarh, MMU Ambala& SRHU Himalayan University, Dehradun.
She has also served as a resource person / Moderator/ Panelist for multiple national and state level conferences and workshops and has actively organized and participated in numerous state level workshops.
She is also chairperson of Nursing Education and research committee of TNAI, Punjab state branch. Additionally, she has contributed as a reviewer for two Obstetrics &Gynaecological Nursing textbooks. She is also reviewer of various research journals.

Dr. Nidhi Sagar has contributed significantly to academic and research activities, with more than 22 publications in national and international journals.
Awards
She has presented over 18 papers at various conferences and has received recognition for Best Paper Presentation at a national conference.
