Recognizing the expanding role of psychological services within holistic healthcare, the department of Clinical Psychology was formally designated as an independent entity in 2017. Since then, it has progressively evolved in scope, capacity and clinical integration over the years. At present, there are four full-time RCI registered clinical psychologist who are running RCI recognized MPhil clinical psychology course. All the faculty members are trained in diverse domains of clinical psychology and provide specialized services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

We aim to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based psychological services by adopting a biopsychosocial approach in assessment, management and rehabilitation, addressing the complex interplay of psychological, medical and social factors influencing patient well-being. This ensures that the treatment leads to meaningful and lasting change.
The department caters to a wide and diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients, presenting with a broad spectrum of psychological, behavioral, emotional, cognitive and psychosomatic concerns. Our services include comprehensive psychological assessments, evidence-based psychotherapies, rehabilitation and consultation-liaison services, delivered in close collaboration with multiple medical specialties. This integrated model ensures that psychological well-being is an essential part of overall healthcare, especially for individuals dealing with chronic medical and neurological conditions.
In addition to clinical care, the department plays a vital role in capacity building within the mental health sector. Through structured academic programs, supervised clinical training and hands-on experiential learning, we are committed to training the next generation of clinical psychologists. This contribution is crucial in addressing the growing demand and manpower gap in mental health services, both at regional and national levels.
Clinical Assessment Services
The department provides a wide range of standardized and specialized psychological assessment services, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. These include:
- Cognitive and Intelligence Assessment (for children and adults)
- Personality Assessment (objective and projective techniques)
- Neuropsychological Assessment (for neurological and neurosurgical conditions)
- Developmental and Behavioral Assessment (including autism spectrum and ADHD-related evaluations)
- Psycho-diagnostic Evaluations for psychiatric conditions
- Learning Disability and Academic Assessment
All assessments are conducted using standardized, validated tools and are integrated with clinical interviews and behavioral observations.
Psychotherapeutic Services
The department offers a broad spectrum of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions tailored to individual patient needs. These services are delivered in both outpatient and inpatient settings and include:
