Women diagnosed with breast cancer, have an option of getting new reconstructed breast even after its full removal. This kind of plastic surgery involves reconstructing breast with the patient’s own tissue or by silicone implants.

With advancements of cancer treatment lately, breast conservation surgery is possible, whereby only the lump is removed and rest of the breast is retained. This procedure is combined with radiotherapy to remaining breast, giving survival equal to total removal of breast (mastectomy).
