PROFESSOR & HEAD
Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni did her MBBS and MD from DMCH and presently working as Professor and Head of Pediatrics and Director of pediatric critical care fellowship program. She was declared the second best graduate in MBBS and won distinctions in various subjects. Her main area of interest is pediatric intensive care and was instrumental in establishing PICU in DMC in 1999 and starting pediatric critical care fellowship program recognized by Intensive care chapter of IAP and Indian Critical Care Medicine (ICCM) since 2011. .
Dr Puneet was awarded visiting fellowship in pediatric intensive care by Royal college of Pediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), London UK. She worked as honorary fellow in PICU at Royal Alexandria hospital, Sydney Australia. She also worked as Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Intensive care at Cambridge University Hospital, UK for one year, awarded by International Pediatric Training scheme by RCPCH, London. She has many international and national publications including chapters in books and has presented papers in international and national conferences particularly related to pediatric critical care at World congress at USA, UK, Australia and Switzerland etc.
She is a master trainer of "Asthma training" and "Respiratory tract infections" modules of IAP. Dr Puneet is also PALS instructor and holds BLS and other workshops for medicos in Punjab. She is the founder secretary of Intensive care chapter of Punjab State Branch and is currently vice-president of ICC and also life member of societies like international critical care medicine etc.
She is happily married to Dr Daljit Singh Pooni, CMO at PAU Hospital, Ludhiana and is blessed with two lovely children. |
