                                                                                          Rheumatology Quiz held

SD Deodhar Rheumatology Quiz for post graduate students of Medicine was held today in Dumra Auditorium. The quiz was organized by Indian Rheumatology Association (IRA) to evaluate the knowledge of participants about this chronic,painful disease.

Four teams from different medical colleges including DMCH, Ludhiana, SGRD Amritsar, CMC Ludhiana and Guru Gobind Singh Medical College (GGS), Faridkot participated in the quiz. There were five rounds in the quiz, which had various questions pertaining to Rheumatology and Immunology. 

Dr Prashant Aggarwal conducted the quiz. In his message, Dr Prashant Aggarwal said Rheumatology is a multidisciplinary branch of medicine that deals with the investigation, diagnosis and management of patients with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. This incorporates over 200 disorders affecting joints, bones, muscles and soft tissues, including inflammatory arthritis and other systemic autoimmune disorders, vasculitis, soft tissue conditions, spinal pain and metabolic bone disease. 

The quiz was conducted as a part of initiative to raise awareness about the field of Rheumatology/

Principal Dr Sandeep Puri presided over the programme and awarded certificates to the participants. The winners of the quiz will go for the North Zonal Round to be held at Delhi in the near future
