Research and Development Centre inaugurated 22/9/2013
The Research and Development Centre a new wing was inaugurated in Dayanand Medical College & Hospital by Dr. A. V Chainulu, Director DSIR.
Mr. Prem Gupta, Secretary Managing Society, DMC & H informed that the hospital realizes that we need to conduct research pertaining to health problems of our society which are different from other regions. The hospital has kept a separate fund of Rs. 2 Crore for the Research. Already, a team of 30 individuals is working in the Research and Development wing and useful data will be available for the benefit of patients of this region.
Dr. A. V Chainulu informed that Dayanand Medical College is one of the few medical college in the country which has been recognized as Centre for research by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR). He said that the department was satisfied and impressed with the amount of original research that is being conducted in this institution. Some of the key areas of research till now have been Hypertension, Coronary artery Disease, Neurosarcoidosis, Celiac disease and Hepatitis B virus. Dr. Daljit Singh, Principal, DMC&H informed that areas of new research are going to be Diabetes, Dengue fever, common poisonings like celphos poisoning etc.
