MOU signed between DMCH & UK-based Hospital

The Memorandum of Understanding was today executed between Dayanand Medical College & Hospital and Imperial College, UK for faculty and student exchange training programmes.

Secretary of DMCH Managing Society- Sh. Prem Kumar Gupta extended warm welcome to a team of doctors including Steve Cannon, Robert Marston, John Hollingdale, Ian Holloway, Dr. Ajay Gupta and Sally Wright from Clementine Churchill Hospital, UK and affirmed his full support in making this MOU a great success for boththe institutions. He affirmly said that a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations will lead to the development of several innovation projects. During their visit to DMCH, the team visited all the major areas of the hospital and were apprised of various facilities and services available in the institution.

The process of having MOU between the two institutions was initiated by Sh. Sunil Kant Munjal,President of DMCH Managing Society, during his visit to UK earlier this year. Dr Ajay Gupta, Orthopedic Surgeon in London and alumni of DMCH is coordinating the understanding.

Principal Dr. Daljit Singh said that the basic idea behind the exchange programme is to strengthen long-term bilateral cooperation between two medical institutions in medical education, research and clinical expertise through teachers/students exchange, enrolment of the faculties in doctoral (PhD) and post doctoral research programmes.

Giving details about the MOU signed, Dean Academics Dr. Rajoo Singh Chhina said that both the hospitals have mutually agreed to start Exchange Training Programmesand Exchange Travelling Fellowships at undergraduate, post graduate and faculty level. Interdepartmental Exchange and Joint Clinical Projects on newer innovationsand technologies, Joint Research Projects and Exchange Programmes for Nurses/ Technicians and Administrative staff has also been included in the scope of this MOU.This will ensure training in the latest techniques to pass on the benefits to our patients in India.

All the visiting guests were facilitated by the President Sh Amrit Nagpal and Secretary Sh Prem Kumar Gupta.
