DMC&H dedicates its Thalassemia ward to Dr Praveen C Sobti
DMC&H today named its Thalassemia Ward , ‘Dr Praveen C Sobti Ward’, in view of her pioneering work in Thalassemia and Hemato oncology in DMC&H. Dr. Parveen C Sobti, Former Professor and In-charge of Pediatrics Hemato-oncology, who passed away on 11th June 2024, started the 1st Thalassemia unit in Punjab at DMC&H. She was instrumental in taking the department to great heights along with her team.
Today, DMC&H has a registered thalassemic patient list of 500, while daily more than 15 patients come for regular blood transfusion. DMC&H provides free services for blood transfusion and chelation therapy.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H managing society said that true to the spirit of service to everyone at DMC&H, Dr. Sobti served the community selflessly.
Principal, DMC&H, Dr G S Wander said that the entire faculty was fond of her and the institute would continue to take the Hemato Oncology department forward with best in-class facilities. |
