DMC&H, PAU ink MoU to integrate Agricultural and Medical Sciences
Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H) and Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate agricultural and medical sciences in a collaborative effort to address pressing health and nutrition issues. The formal signing ceremony took place on 3rd June, 24 at the PAU campus, with PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal and DMC&H Principal Dr. G S Wander along with Dr. Bishav Mohan (Medical Superintendent and Professor of Cardiology), Dr. Sandeep Sharma (Medical Superintendent and HoD Urology), Dr. Sandeep Kaushal (Dean Academics and HoD Pharmacology), Dr. Shweta Batta (Dietary Department Incharge) and Mr Gurjeet Singh, Sr. Manager Corporate Cell DMC&H. PAU officers were also graced the occasion. This partnership between DMC&H and Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) aims to bridge the gap between agricultural and medical sciences. This collaboration focuses on leveraging the strengths of both institutions to address pressing health and nutrition issues. Giving information about the MoU, Dr G S Wander, Principal DMCH&H clarified that the MoU would elevate research, enhance educational experiences and develop disruptive technologies. He also stressed on education exchange programme and skill development, teaching modules. Further he stressed the importance of translating the MoU into tangible benefits for the community, listing various initiatives such as health check-ups, anemia alleviation, millet promotion, high fibre and high protein diet popularization and skill development programmes.
