First  Prof. S B Khurana memorial Oration    

The first Prof. S B Khurana Memorial Oration was held  in Dumra Auditorium. Dr Ashok Seth, President, Cardiological Society of India and Chairman, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi delivered the oration. The oration was well attended by the managing members, faculty and the medical students  

 

The oration began with a welcome address to the dignitaries and audience by Dean Academic Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina.  

 

In his address to the audience, Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said considering the enormous contribution made by Dr SB Khurana in the field of medicine and as the former head of the institution, who left no stone unturned to raise this institution to its present academic and clinical glory, the First Prof. S B Khurana Memorial Oration was held to commemorate the first death anniversary of Dr Khurana and inspire the young generation of doctors to tread on the path shown by him. former 

 

Principal Dr Daljit Singh extended warm welcome to Dr Ashok Seth. In his message, Dr Daljit Singh said we remember Dr Khurana as our ideal, with everlasting affection and profound respect. His clinical acumen, teaching methods, sophistication and suaveness continue to form a cherished memory that we carry within our hearts. He spoke on Dr SB Khurana as a doyen of the medical fraternity and eminent physician par excellence. 

 

Chief Cardiologist & Co-ordinator of Hero DMC Heart Institute-Dr GS introduced the chief guest to the audience.In his message, he said that Dr Seth has contributed extensively to the growth and development  and scientific progress of Cardiology especially Interventional Cardiology in India and across the globe.

 

Dr Ashok Seth delivered the oration in front of a packed audience on the topic of ‘Coronary Revascularization: Refining Tools to Recruiting Robots’. He said that In the past decade, the face of intervention coronary revascularization has been changed by a number of advances, most notably the development of minimally invasive techniques including robot-assisted coronary artery bypass Computer (robotic) enhancement has emerged as a potential facilitator of minimally invasive intervention procedures, said Dr Seth. He spoke on various tools that are used for opening blocked coronary arteries due to which the number of patients, who can be treated in Cath Lab, especially the new procedures of transcatheter aortic valve replacement will be helping many more patients      

 

Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary of DMCH Management Society along with  wife of Late Dr SB Khurana, Dr Swaran Khurana conferred Dr Seth with the oration award..
