To commemorate World Hepatitis Day, various activities were conducted at DMC&H.
Viral Hepatitis is a global health concern which can be prevented by vaccination and maintaining personal hygiene, safe food and water, safe sex and safe needle usage. A Central Session was held in which presentations were given by faculty for the residents and fellow consultants. Dr Sarit Sharma, Prof, SPM, gave a presentation on “Epidemiology and Overview of National Hepititis Control program”, “Clinical Aspects and Management of Hepititis” was presented by Dr Varun Mehta, Prof, Gastroenterology and “Blood Borne Hepatitis: diagnosis and post exposure prophylaxis ” by Dr Veenu Gupta, Prof & Head, Microbiology.
Health talks and awareness sessions were conducted to sensitize general public and nursing and technical staff about Hepatitis and its prevention by Dr Jyoti, Dr Menal and Dr Manisha of Dept of Microbiology and Infection Control Nurses. |
