World Blood Donor's Day was observed by the Dept. of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana. The theme of the day was "GIVE BLOOD, GIVE PLASMA, SHARE LIFE, SHARE OFTEN". The day provides a special opportunity to celebrate and thank voluntary blood donors around the world for their gift of blood and has become a major focus for action towards achieving universal access to safe blood transfusion.

Three voluntary blood donation camps were organized in which 150 blood units were collected.
