The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) supported hypertension control initiative for Ludhiana district led by Dr.Bishav Mohan, Professor & Medical Suptd., Dept of Cardiology, Hero-DMC heart institute and Dept of SPM, DMC&H aims to tackle the rising hypertension burden of the district by formulation of an implementable strategic action plan for effective hypertension control that can effectively engage, sensitize the public and encourage health care providers working in diverse health care settings to adopt , robustly implement , sustain globally accepted standard hypertension screening and management practices.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Anand Krishnan, Professor, Centre for Community Medicine , AIIMS, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma , Scientist –F , NCD – ICMR,Dr Roopa Shivshankar, Scientist, NCD ,ICMR, Dr Bhairavi Deshmukh,Medical Suptd, ESI model Hospital, Ldh, Dr Indira Rani, Deputy Medical Suptd, ESI Model Hospital, Dr Bishav Mohan, Medical SUptd, Hero DMC Heart Institute, Dr GS Wander, Vice Principal, DMC&H and other experts and professors. Further discussions were held with the IMA representatives of Ludhiana and Industrial representatives to gather ideas and suggestions on implementation of the discussed hypertension control models. |
