The college round of “25th IAP (Indian Academy of Paediatrics) Paediatric Quiz for undergraduate students” was held at Dumra Auditorium.

 
Four teams comprising of Sudhanshu Mahajan and Shaifali Mahajan, Divjot Singh and Ridhi Sood, Aravdeep and Amit K.Lall, Madhurima and Mohit from MBBS Batch 2008 took part in the quiz which focused on different aspects of pediatric diseases, their management and treatment.

 
Professor and Head of Pediatrics at DMCH- Dr. Harmesh Singh Bains, who is a Local Co-ordinator of IAP Quiz, handed over a complete list of forty questions to Principal Dr Daljit Singh, who conducted the quiz in a very enthralling manner and captivated the participants and the audience with his timely wit and humour. Six rounds of questions were conducted during the quiz programme.
 

 
Professor of Pediatrics-Dr Praveen C. Sobti extended warm welcome to the audience, faculty and conveyed her best wishes to the participating teams. She mentioned that the basic objectives of the quiz are to create interest about the pediatrics among the undergraduate medical students.

 
The quiz is organised every year in all medical colleges of the country. The winning team from the college-round takes part in the divisional contest and winners of this round enter the zonal round. After winning these rounds, they take part in the national-level quiz contest.
 

The team of Divjot Singh and Ridhi Sood was declared overall winners while team of Sudhanshu Mahajan and Shaifali Mahajan was declared second and team of Aravdeep & Amit K. Lall and Madhurima & Mohit  stood third and fourth respectively..
 

Among those from the department of Pediatrics who were present on the occasion were   Dr Praveen C. Sobti, Dr Puneet A. Pooni, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Dhooria, Dr Deepak Bhat and Dr JS Goraya, who proposed a vote of thanks.
