Sub: Tree Plantation Drive held at Rural Health Centre Pohir
DMC&H, Ludhiana has always been committed in improving health of the community. Along with that taking care of environment is our priority. In order to sensitize students towards the need to preserve our environment a tree plantation drive was conducted by students of MBBS batch 2022.
The drive was conducted by Department of Community Medicine at Rural Health & Training Centre Pohir and village Butahri. Total 100 students of MBBS Batch 2022 participated and more than 200 saplings were planted.
This activity was conducted under the supervision of faculty of Department of Community Medicine, DMC&H. The department has adopted Butahri village to improve their health by providing them healthcare facilities at subsidised cost.
In his message, Secretary DMCH Managing Society, Sh Prem Kumar Gupta appreciated the effort of Department for being environmentally conscious and initiated a tree plantation drive at RHC Pohir.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anurag Chaudhary Professor Head Department of Community Medicine urged everyone to plant more trees and give their contribution to protect our environment. ‘The purpose of this drive is to promote environmental awareness and to spread awareness regarding conserving nature and to create a green atmosphere’ highlighted Dr Chaudhary.
In addition to that 300 families were assigned to students of MBBS batch 2022 for taking care of their overall health. This was achievable due to the support of DMC&H, Management. Prof and Head Dept. of Community Medicine thanked sarpanch of Butahri Mr Tarsem Lal for giving students this opportunity. She also expressed her gratitude to Mr Manjeet Singh, Mr Iqbal Singh, Mr Balwant Singh and Mr Jatinder Singh Lali for their untiring efforts in organising this drive. |
