                                     Free Cataract Surgery camp held

Under DMCH Outreach Program (DROP) a free eye screening  camp was organized by Dayanand Medical College & Hospital in  the village Buthari, to create awareness among the masses and detect eye defects and ailments .

An expert team of doctors including Dr Priyanka Arora, Associate Professor and Dr Ritesh Verma, Assistant Professor Department of eye DMCH provided their services during the camp and more than 200 patients were examined and 60 patients were operated for cataract surgery at free of cost on the next day of camp at DMCH and were provided free glasses and medicines after the surgery. These patients will be followed up regularly on every Monday at Rural Health Centre Pohir.

Secretary DMCH Managing Society Sh Prem Kumar Gupta along with Medical Supdts Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Professor & Head Department of Community Medicine Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Dr Mahesh Satija Professor Department of Community Medicine, Dr Surinderpal Singh Associate Professor Department of Community Medicine and other faculty members were present on the occasion.

In his message, secretary DMCH managing society Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said that DMCH is committed to provide best health care facilities at affordable cost to the rural public of the region as this Outreach Program is  part of DMCH’s commitment.

According to Dr Bishav Mohan Medical Supdt. DMCH, Rural health Centre Pohir has state of the art facilities to provide the best eye care facilities to the rural areas and such free eye camps help to address the challenges of non availability and non affordability of quality eye care for the rural public.

DMCH Rural Outreach Programme (DROP) is a unique initiative by DMCH to serve the rural and semi urban community which was started in the month of May 2022 and more than 30,000 patients have benefitted with this program till now. Under this programme multispecialty medical services are being provided to the rural  and semi urban areas. OPD caters the medical needs of approximately 5 lakh rural population  of surrounding area.

Further, Dr Bishav said that our motive is to reaching out to rural community and to deliver high quality, preventive, promotive and curative best health care facilities by expert medical team and to improve the health status of inaccessible rural areas as this location is very near to their places of residence. It is very difficult for the rural communities to get best medical care facilities, this program act as a bridge and help to remove these barriers said Dr  Bishav Mohan.
