World Health Day observed (8th April 2022)
Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, DMCH College of Nursing, Malakpur, Ludhiana & Dept of Community Health Nursing celebrated World Health Day 2022 under the theme “Our Planet Our Health” by organizing Exhibition cum General Health check up camp for the community at DMCH Rural Health Centre, Pohir.
Shri Prem Kumar Gupta remarked that this day provides a global opportunity to focus attention on important public health issues that affect the international community. He lauded the efforts of Dept of Community Health Nursing & Dept of Social Preventive Medicine for organizing such an engaging and educational event.
Professor Mrs. Sandeep Kaur said the World Health Organization focuses global attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy.
Dr Ashwani Chaudhary highlighted the inequities in our world. He said it is important to work as a community to encourage people about inculcating good habits in our lifestyle to take better care of ourselves and the environment around us.
The talk on topics like “impact of climate change on physical health”, “mental health”, “food and water” were delivered.The students enacted a role play under the guidance of Ms Rinky Masih, Senior Nursing Tutor & Ms. Shivani Kumari Nursing Tutor. The exhibition was judged and students were awarded with certificates.
The Chief Guest Shri Prem Kumar Gupta, Honorable Secretary, Managing Society DMCH, Dr Ashwani Chaudhary, Medical Superintendent & Head of Neurosurgery department, Prof. Dr Triza Jiwan Principal, DMCH College Of Nursing, Prof. Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Head, Social Preventive Medicine Department, Prof. Dr Mahesh Satija, Dr Surinder Pal Singh Medical Officer RHC, Pohir, Prof Nidhi Sagar Vice Principal CON and others were present at the occasion.
A poster making competition was also organized by Dept of Community Medicine at DMC College Campus with the theme of World Health Day for First year MBBS students. Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean, Academics, DMCH and Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Head, Dept of Community medicine awarded prizes and certificates to the winning teams.
