DMCH commemorates World Tuberculosis Day
To commemorate the “World Tuberculosis Day”, Department of Microbiology, DMCH organized a “Integrated Central Session” on 24th March, 2022 in Dumra Auditorium of DMCH. The theme of World Tuberculosis Day for the year 2022 is “Invest to end TB. Save lives”.
Various lectures were conducted for PG students and awareness sessions for general public
Integrated Central Session was conducted on the topics- Epidemiology and Prevention of TB by Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Prof. & Head, Community Medicine, Diagnostic Methods of Tuberculosis by Dr Veenu Gupta, Prof. & Head, Dept of Microbiology and Management of Tuberculosis by Dr Akashdeep Singh, Prof. Head, Respiratory Medicine.
On the occasion Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society said that DMCH is actively involved in creating awareness among the masses.
Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMCH lauded the efforts of Department of Microbiology and said that DMCH has state of the art Diagnostic facilities for Tuberculosis like Direct Fluorescent microscope (LED), TB Culture (MGIT), Molecular assays (CBNAAT) and LPA which are available in DMCH.
Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean, Academics coordinated the session said that these sessions are integral to update the knowledge and make learning more interactive
In addition to this, Poster/Slogan Competition was organized for Paramedical students in which Arshpreet Kaur,(Paramedics 3rd year) stood first, Liza Arora,(Paramedics 3rd year) bagged second position and Mansi ( Bsc. MLT 2nd Year) came third. Quiz was organized in which Dr. Devika Bansal, Pathology came first, Dr. Deeksha Chawla, ENT came second and Dr. Arshpreet Kaur, IHBT & Dr. Aseem Gumber, MS bagged third position.
A skit was also presented by PG residents and awareness talks were given by ICNs in the Medical OPDs. Dr Rama Gupta, Dr Jyoti Chaudhary, Dr Meenal Gupta and the residents of Microbiology Department coordinated the event.
