HOSPITAL INFECTION CONTROL CONFERENCE (HICCON) held on 7th Sep,2019 |
Department of Microbiology and Hospital Infection Control Committee today organized HOSPITAL INFECTION CONTROL CONFERENCE (HICCON) in Dumra Auditorium. The conference was held on the theme ‘Preventing Infections-In our Hands’ and was enthusiastically participated by around 200 delegates from different parts of the country.
The conference was formally inaugurated by Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta along with Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga and Vice-President Sh Gian Chand Dhawan. Also present on the occasion were, Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice Principal Dr GS Wander, Medical Supdt Dr Ashwani Chaudhary, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Dr Rama Sardana (Secretary, National Infection Control Committee) and Dr Manoj K Sobti (Member, Punjab Council of India)
Organizing Chairperson- Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina (Dean Academics) extended warm welcome to all the distinguished guest speaker and participating delegates. In his address, Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina said that Infections or HAIs are quite preventable, that add to the morbidity and mortality. The hazards of hospital-acquired infections can adversely affect hospital staff and also public at large.
Organzing Secretaries-Dr Deepinder Chhina and Dr Veenu Gupta said that the conference will provide extensive platform to microbiologists, clinical specialists, nursing and medical staff.
The highlight of the conference was ‘KAUN BANEGA GYANPATI’ game show, which was participated by four different teams of two persons in each team. The game show was very well articulately moderated by Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, who kept the audience spellbound with his range of different questions. The game show consists of very informative set of questions and answers.
At last, the role play on preventing ‘Hospital Acquired Infections’ was effectively shown to the students by students of College of Nursing, DMCH and was well appreciated by them.
The conference got concluded with an impressive valedictory function by honoring distinguished guest speakers and resource faculty members. |
