‘Breast Feeding Week’ observed 8th August,2019
Department of Pediatrics, DMCH in association with Ludhiana Academy of Pediatrics observed ‘World Breast Feeding Week’ by organizing declamation contest. Resident doctors from the departments of Pediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynae participated enthusiastically in the declamation contest.
The theme of Breast Feeding Week for this year is “Breast Milk: The elixir of life”
It was informed that ‘World Breastfeeding Week’ is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. Breast milk provides the ideal nutrition for infants. It has a nearly perfect mix of vitamins, protein, and fat, everything your baby needs to grow. Breast milk also contains antibodies that help your baby fight off viruses and bacteria and also lowers baby's risk of having asthma or allergies.
