Three Dimensional Mapping System inaugurated
22nd July,2019
Hero DMC Heart Institute in Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana has acquired the latest “Three Dimensional Mapping System” for management of complex Cardiac Arrhythmia's (which means, irregular heart beat). Patients with fast heart rhythm abnormalities can be managed with medicines and when these are serious and life threatening it needs treatment in electrophysiology lab. The hospital is one of the few centres in North India where this form of treatment is available. The new state-of-art mapping system is one of the best in the world and will provide greater precision in treatment of these fast heart rhythm abnormalities.
Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary DMCH Managing Society inaugurated the machine and dedicated it to the service of these patients. He emphasized that the DMC & H management is committed to provide the best equipment and services to the patients of this region at affordable cost. The department of cardiology through Dr Naved Aslam and Dr Abhishek Goyal have specialized in management of these disorders. Patients with all kind of rhythm abnormalities can now be managed here with greater accuracy. This machine enables in three dimensional imaging and localization of the abnormalities. This newly-installed machine enhances the precision and success of the radio frequency ablation procedures for these disorders.
Dr Gurpreet S Wander and Dr Bishav Mohan emphasized that we already have all facilities for patients with slow heart rate abnormalities and now we can manage all rapid heart rhythm disorders as well.
A workshop for the management of complex rhythm disorders using this three dimensional EP system is being organized on this occasion in collaboration with Dr Ulhas Pandurangi from Chennai. The new equipment will overcome the challenges of existing 2-dimensional technology and create 3-D image of the cardiac anatomy and electrical activity of the human heart with greater accuracy. |
