DMCH Health Education Cell today organized a lecture by Swami Subhoda Nand Saraswati (Chief Acharya of Gurukul Sandeepany, Sidhbari Himachal Pradesh and Zonal Head of Mission Centres, North India) on the topic “Mind, Intellect and Body”. The lecture was well attended by faculty members, residents, students, employees and staff.
Dean Academics- Dr. Rajoo Singh Chhina extended warm welcome to the guest speaker. He said self and spiritual growth can be a lifelong journey and one of the most rewarding things which you can concentrate on. Principal Dr Daljit Singh emphasized on the need for individuals to have spiritual development in present day times.
In his lecture, Swami Subhoda Nand Saraswati said that the mind is intimately connected with the body. The mind acts upon the body and the body reacts upon the mind. So when the mind is rough, the body is rough too. Just as the tongue is an index of the stomach, the face is an index of the mind and therefore, a man of rough appearance generally cannot invoke love and mercy of others. The thoughts of fear, anxiety, grief, cheerfulness, hilarity, anger- all produce their various impressions on the face.
A person should try his best not to pay attention to negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts by using the power of awareness, said Swami Subhoda Nand Saraswati.
A person should use words that evoke mental images and feelings of joy, health, wealth and happiness. Any ill-feeling or bitterness towards another person will at once affect the body and produce some kind of disease in the body. Intense passion, hatred, longstanding bitter jealousy, corroding anxiety, fits of hot temper actually destroy the cells of the body and induce diseases.
Vice President of DMCH Managing Society-Shri Amrit Nagpal proposed vote of thanks to Swami Subhoda Nand for enlightening the audience with his spiritual insight
