2nd National Undergraduate Medical conference for all under graduate (MBBS) students was held . The conference was an academic fiesta for all the medicos, who had come from different medical colleges of the country.
The chief guest, on the occasion, was Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana Sh Pradeep Kumar Agarwal, who formally inaugurated the conference and appreciated the role of DMCH in making their students exposed to overall personality development, which is very important in becoming a successful doctor in the future. Other dignitaries present on the occasion including Secretary of DMCH Managing Society Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice-Principal Dr G S Wander, Medical Supdts Dr Ashwani Chaudhary, Dr Sandeep Sharma and Assistant Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal
Principal Dr. Sandeep Puri extended warm welcome to the chief guest and highlighted the importance of this conference which was brilliantly organized by the MBBS students of DMCH under the guidance of DMCH Managing Society and faculty members. The conference began with a guest lecture on ‘What you ought to know about medico-legal aspects’ by Convener of Medico Legal Action Group- Dr Neeraj Nagpal. The chairpersons for this lecture were Dr Gautam Biswas (Professor & Head of Forensic Medicine, DMCH) and Dr Anju Gupta from PIMS, Jalandhar. A panel discussion on the topic ‘NEET PG: The Path Ahead’ was also conducted which generated lot of curiosity among the students. Dr Sandeep Singh, Director of Vidya Sagar Biomedica, Ludhiana along with Dr Deepak Arora including NEET PG toppers Dr Ashita Mittal and Dr Ashima participated in the panel discussion. A lecture on awareness about organ donation was delivered by Liver Transplant Surgeon of DMCH- D Hardev Ramandeeo Singh Girn on the theme ‘Cadaveric Solid Organ Donation: Pitfalls and Future Vision’
An informative lecture on the topic ‘Stress in Medical Education-Myth or Reality’ was delivered by Dr Om Sai Prakash from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and Dr Ranjive Mahajan (Professor & Head of Psychiatry, DMCH) chaired the session.
The conference had a very special session on the topic ‘Art of Communication..The Healing Words’ by Dr Anu Sharma and Dr Sarit Sharma as faculty co-ordinators.
Besides the guest lectures, the conference also had various workshops on different themes including ‘How to write a Research Paper,’ ‘Basic Surgical Skills’ and ‘Basic Life Support (BLS) Course’ |
